Swansea City Under-18s suffered their first defeat in four matches against Ipswich Town in the Professional Development League.

The young Swans made a sensational start at the neutral venue of St George’s Park – going a goal up inside two minutes, but the sending-off of goalkeeper Josh Hutchings shortly afterwards swung the contest firmly in favour of the Tractor Boys.

Less than 120 seconds were on the clock when Cameron Congreve struck for Anthony Wright’s side.

But following Hutchings’ dismissal, Ipswich capitalised on their numerical advantage by equalising through Michael Bareck just before half-time.

It was all one-way traffic after the break. Bareck completed his brace, while Fraser Alexander, Ola Bello and Tyrese Osborne were also on target in a comfortable win for the youngsters from East Anglia.
