23rd September

Swansea City Under-18s suffered a third straight defeat in Premier League South as they were beaten 5-1 by Leicester City.

The young Swans had taken an early lead through Bradley Gibbings, but it proved to be a false dawn as an inspired Leicester recovered to run out comfortable winners at Landore.

Anthony Wright’s side made a bright start and edged their noses in front after 17 minutes as Gibbings latched onto Adnaan Moti’s pass before beating Chituru Odunze in the Foxes goal.

However, fresh from beating reigning Premier League South champions Arsenal the previous weekend, the visitors responded.

Terell Pennant’s equaliser was followed by a brace from Dempsey Arlott-John to give them a commanding 3-1 lead at the break.

Arlott-John was instrumental again in the second half – setting up Ethan Fitzhugh and a second goal for Pennant as Leicester prevailed as comprehensive victors.
