Joe Rodon has pledged to repay the Swans and Graham Potter for the faith shown in him after signing a new contract.

Rodon, who saw his previous deal expire at the end of the season, will remain at the Liberty until 2022 after he agreed fresh terms.

The 21-year-old has enjoyed a rapid rise this season, having made 12 appearances – including his club debut – along with earning a call-up to Ryan Giggs’ Wales squad.

Having impressed in his early performances alongside vice-captain Mike van der Hoorn in the heart of defence, Rodon is now looking to continue his progress under Potter in the Championship.

“The coaching staff and manager have looked after me very well over the last few months,” said Rodon.

“They have integrated me into the group and since Preston they have been careful with me.

“Hopefully I can repay them and the club with my performances.

“Everything has happened so quickly in the last few months. I’ve played regularly and then I got a Wales call up, so I’m loving life.

“Hopefully there’s a lot more to come in the future.”
