Ronald looking to repay faith of Swans boss Sheehan
Ronald hopes he can continue to repay the support of head coach Alan Sheehan after making his mark in front of goal during the opening week of the new season.
The Brazilian winger scored the winner against Sheffield United at the weekend, firing home with precision from the edge of the area after his driving run had put the Swans in a promising position.
That followed on from his strike against Crawley Town in the Carabao Cup, and that has taken Ronald up to eight goals in Swansea colours.
Swans boss Sheehan has often praised Ronald’s tireless work ethic, but has made clear he wants more positive outcomes from the forward in the final third.
And the 24-year-old is glad to have started the season by getting on the scoresheet.
“I’m very happy to have scored two goals in a week,” he said.
“I hope I can help contribute towards more victories for Swansea, the important of this one was great because we knew how important it was to start to try and build momentum.
“We want to continue to be on the front foot and I am happy to have started the season well.
“Alan is a coach who always talks to me and supports me, he gives me advice on the positions I need to get into and I am happy to be scoring goals to help the team.
“To celebrate with the fans at the end was great, I know they have a lot of affection for me, every game they shout my name and I am really glad to give them a moment to make them happy, and I hope there are more to come.”
