Swans Academy's sponsor boost

15th August

Swansea City has teamed up with Dawnus to sponsor the club's Academy at Landore.
The Swansea-based international civil engineering and building company are one of the fastest growing construction businesses in the UK.
The Swans Academy has a proud tradition of training and developing the next generation of top-flight footballers with the likes of Ben Davies, Joe Allen and Jazz Richards all progressing through our ranks.
The deal means another branch of Swansea City will gain from a major funding boost, helping train and develop Swans Academy stars of the future with players like Lee Lucas, Scott Tancock and Josh Sheehan waiting in the wings for first-team football.
Nigel Rees, Academy Manager, said: "This is another massive boost for Swansea City Football Club, especially for everyone who is involved with the Academy.
"Since the facility opened 12 months ago, our multi-million pound state-of-the-art complex at Landore is helping train the club's stars of the future.
"Having a sponsor like this join us for the coming season really is the icing on the cake that could help our Academy gain category one status in the future."
Swansea City and Dawnus have previously worked together to donate football shirts to local communities in Sierra Leone.
Recipients adopted the Swans shirts as their own to form a team, Dawnus FC, which plays in the Sierra Leone football league.
Dawnus Managing Director, Russell Evans, said: "This sponsorship deal sees Dawnus strengthen and broaden its links with Swansea City Football Club.
"By working together and investing in young Welsh talent we hope to further our positive impact on the local community."
