Everyone Deserves a Summer

Swansea City AFC Foundation ran Soccer Camps in which 50 local children were provided with free meals as part of the Everyone Deserves a Summer project led by Carolyn Harris.

The camps were held in Claes and Blaenymaes, providing participants with sessions led by the Foundation's FAW qualified coaches before Harris delivered free meals for all participants.

More than 50 local children attended the event, with local police and Swansea City club ambassador Lee Trundle all getting involved in football sessions and helping to hand out meals.

Trundle was glad that the Foundation could support local families through the holidays in such a difficult time.

“It’s nice for the kids to come out, have a bit of fun, play a bit of football and also get a bit of food as well,” said Trundle.

“I think it’s very important. A lot of the kids rely on school dinners and the school holidays can be hard for some families.”

Harris thanked everyone who helped make the project happen and helped deliver a summer to kids across the local area.

“We’ve had a fantastic time, we’ve had an absolutely brilliant summer,” said Harris.

“There are so many people we want to thank. Thank you to everyone who has helped us and supported us, thank you to every parent who has allowed their kids to come and join us this summer and thank you to the kids that have been absolutely brilliant.”
