Swansea City and Swans Foundation host pupil’s voice and fan feedback workshop

Swansea City and Swansea City AFC Foundation’s Premier League Primary Stars project joined to create a joint pupil’s voice, fan feedback workshop at the Swansea.com Stadium.
The workshop was part of a wider joint club and Foundation event which aimed to provide young people from local primary schools the chance to have a big say on the matchday experience for young people.
The workshop saw the Swansea.com Stadium’s south stand family fun zone set up with all the activities you would find on a usual Swans matchday but with a few additions such as a foot golf hole (provided by Swansea Foot Golf) and bocce.
Once the students had completed all the activities, they were asked to leave one good thing, and one thing to improve in a thought bubble which was stuck to the wall.
The inflatable goal and bocce proved particularly popular among the group, while requests for a wider variety of activities with particular emphasis on more things for younger children was among the items which could be improved.
There was also a recommendation of creating more decoration in the concourse to make it more for fun for children.

The club’s head of supporter services, Hayley Ford, said: “We are always looking for ways to improve the activities on offer in the family stand on matchdays.
“While the introduction of the Swansea City AFC Foundation inflatable goal has been a popular addition, as has the ping-pong game and junior fans’ noticeboard – these were all suggestion from adults. The most important feedback is from the people who are taking part in the activities and some of the feedback provided by the group will help us shape and improve the matchday offering in the family stand going forward.
“We have already looked at introducing new items, while feedback around the decoration of the family stand will play a key role in the summer’s plans.”
Ceri Phillips, Swansea City AFC Foundation education manager, added: “Visits to the Swansea.com Stadium form a big part of the Premier League Primary Stars experience at Swans Foundation and we are always looking for ways to make these visits as engaging and impactful as possible for our Partner Schools.
"It has been great to collaborate with the club and allow Premier League Primary Stars pupils the opportunity to contribute to shaping the matchday experience in the future.”
