Swansea City Exeter Under-18s friendly

19th July

Swansea City Under-18s suffered a 4-1 pre-season friendly defeat at the hands of Exeter City's Academy in the blazing heat at Landore on Tuesday afternoon.
The young Swans could have taken the lead on 25 minutes when Jordan Elliot's cross from the right found Sean Hanbury in the box only for his header to go wide of goal.
A livelier second half saw the visitors break the deadlock five minutes after the restart when a cross beat the Swans defence to find the Grecians frontman inside the area to fire home.
Swansea levelled midway through the second half when substitute midfielder Jordan Jones fed a ball into the box for Matt Roberts to slot past the Exeter keeper.
Roberts could have given the Swans the lead moments later only to fire Keiran Evans' pull back wide.
Exeter continued to press the young Swans and retook the lead from a well-worked corner on 73 minutes before netting twice more in the closing stages of the game.
Swans Under-18s next face a friendly away at West Brom this Saturday (1pm).
