Swansea City Ladies have welcomed a trio of new signings to the club as they continue to build on their success last term.

Goalkeeper Chelsea Herbert, and outfield players Lucy Finch and Monet Legall have all joined Jon Beale’s side ahead of the 2022-23 season, and could make their debuts in the Champions League in Greece next month.

Legall – who generally operates as a winger or wing-back – was playing at university and for Cheltenham Town last season but made the switch to the Swans in the summer. She has also previously played for Cyncoed and Cardiff City.

“Joining the Swans will be an exciting new challenge for me. I have really enjoyed pre-season so far and preparations for the new season are already looking exciting," she said.

“Everyone has been really welcoming and I’m looking forward to getting going.”

Shot-stopper Herbert is a goalkeeping coach and throughout lockdown hosted online keeper training for young female footballers. Like Legall, she recently graduated from the University of South Wales.

Herbert added: “I’m absolutely delighted to have signed for Swansea City. It’s a dream come true to come and play for the club I support. The club and squad have been very welcoming and I look forward to playing alongside them.”

Finch is the third summer signing for Beale and Swansea. The 23-year-old midfielder joined from Cardiff Met and has Champions League experience having made five appearances in the competition. Her arrival will bolster Beale’s options in the middle of the park.

“I’m delighted to have signed for Swansea City for the upcoming season," she said.

“I like the direction the club is heading in and I feel it’s the right time for me to start a new adventure. Hopefully we can kick on this season and make some great memories going forward.”
