29th April

Swansea City Ladies lifted the 2015-16 WPWL League Cup thanks to a thrilling 4-0 win over PILCS at Jenner Park on Thursday night.
Swans Ladies raced out of the blocks to take the lead as striker Katy Hosford pounced on a chance in the penalty area to score after six minutes.
At the other end, some excellent defending from Lowri Ridings and Ria Hughes before some incredible saves from keeper Ffion Ashman prevented PILCS from levelling.
The Swans pushed to double their advantage, Sarah Adams with a powerful strike before Kelly Newcombe's effort both narrowly missed the target. Soon after, an impressive cross from Taylor Bubnick led to a sharp shot from Beynon, which just missed the net.
Swansea continued to pressurise PILCS goal in the second half. Emma Beynon went close with her close range effort, meanwhile, skipper Alicia Powe made a solid block to ensure the Swans maintained their lead.
It was not long before Swans Ladies did have their second goal, when Beynon took her chance to net from close range in the 57th minute.

The Swans increased their advantage just four minutes later when Hosford scored her second of the match following an outstanding run from Adams.
The Ladies striker went close to completing her hat-trick, only to be denied by PILCS' keeper.
Sophie Hancocks sealed the victory for Ian Owen's side with a superb shot from inside the box in the 68th minute to give the Swans a commanding 4-0 lead.
PILCS had a chance to score a consolation goal in the 89th minute, but Ffion Ashman was on hand to ensure a clean sheet for the Swans at the full time whistle.
"We prepared so well for this game and I really think we deserved to win it. When we come out and play the football we can I think we can beat any team, and that's what we did today. From the start, we pressed them high and we just took our chances, so a 4-0 win reflects the game" said double goal scorer Katy Hosford.
"After last year when we lost to PILCS in the final, we knew that we had to turn up today and take the cup, so I'm really proud of everyone, we deserved it" added skipper Alicia Powe.
