Swansea City's Under-18s recently coached the academy's under-seven and eight sides as part of their Uefa ‘C’ Licence practical assessment.

Before the session, the scholars planned out their tactics and delivery alongside Mark Pitman, Professional Footballers' Association (PFA) and Uefa coach educator.

The club works closely with the PFA to ensure each scholar has the chance to achieve the 'C' licence qualification, which will enhance their game understanding from a coaching perspective.

"It was a pleasure to watch the scholars put the theory they had learned into practice by organising and leading coaching sessions which were aimed at inspiring the pre-academy players,” said academy head of education Jordan Morris.

"The abilities the scholars have acquired throughout the journey can also help them as future coaches and in their self-evaluation of their own performance.

"It provides a chance to gain work experience and deliver sessions to the younger age groups in a professional academy.

"Furthermore, it puts them on a coaching ladder, and with more coaching experience they can then apply for roles in the future should they wish to."
