A goal from full-back Aaron Lewis after ten minutes was enough to give Swansea City Under-18s their first victory of the season with a 1-0 win at Leicester on Saturday.
Lewis broke the deadlock when he burst through the midfield to beat the Foxes defence and fire home a fine individual effort into the bottom corner.
The scholars could have extended their lead through Brandon Griffiths, Liam Edwards and Keiran Evans only to see their efforts saved.
At the other end, the Swans defence kept Leicester's chances out including a fine save from goalkeeper Lewis Thomas.
And U18s coach Chris Llewellyn hailed the side's victory as their best performance of the season.
"Credit has to go to the lads," he said. "We have talked in recent weeks about getting a complete performance and Eric (Ramsay) and I feel we delivered that on Saturday.
"We dominated possession for the majority of the game and defended well to soak up the pressure they applied for a spell in the second half.
"We kept creating chances to score and on another day could have had a second goal.
"Overall the team performance was very pleasing. The squad have earned this victory from the hard work they have put in over the last few months.
"Category one has been a huge step up for us and we have all been working hard to ensure we continue to develop to be competitive in this league."
