Swansea City Under-19s South Africa Metropolitan Premier Cup

4th March

Swansea City Under-19s will be heading back to South Africa this month to play in the Metropolitan Premier Cup.
An academy side will be travelling to Cape Town on March 20 to take part in the 28th edition of the competition.
The 32-team tournament is recognised as one of the world's most prestigious tournaments, featuring last year's cup victors Glendene United and six-time Metropolitan Cup winners Ajax Cape Town.
The U19s have been drawn in group G and will face Glenwegians FC, Stephanian Ottery and PPG Langa.
Coach Eric Ramsay said: "Playing in the Metropolitan Premier Cup once again will be a really good experience for our young players.
"The style of football played in South Africa is very different to what we play in Europe. The players are extremely athletic and tactically different.
"It will offer us a new challenge but it is one we are really looking forward to."

Tournament director Patrick Williams added: "It is great to have Swansea City taking part in the Metropolitan Premier Cup this season. Having taken part in the tournament last year they will know what sort of teams they will be up against. The South African football lovers are excited to once again welcome Swansea City back to the "Mother City".
Before the tournament kicks-off on Wednesday, March 23 a team of Swans coaching staff will be visiting local clubs to hold coaching workshops and training sessions with young players.
Academy coaches will also represent Swansea City at Barclays Premier League Live in Cape Town on March 19/20.
