U18s bow out of FA Youth Cup

12th December

Swansea City Under-18s bowed out of the FA Youth Cup on Tuesday despite a spirited fightback in their 4-2 defeat against Aston Villa at Villa Park.

Tyreik Wright put the hosts in front in the second minute of the third-round tie.

After Mason Jones-Thomas had a chance to equalise but saw his penalty saved, a Ben Erickson own-goal made it 2-0 to Villa.

Jacob Ramsey was then on target either side of half-time to put the game beyond the young Swans.

The visitors rallied late on with Cameron Evans and Jayden Reid pulling goals back, but it was not enough to prevent them from exiting the competition.
