U18s lose out to Royals

4th March

Swansea City under-18s are still searching for their first points of 2019 after narrowly losing 1-0 against Reading at Landore in Premier League South.

The academy side welcomed back defender Tivonge Rushesha into their starting XI, after the 16-year-old's exploits with the under-23s in the Premier League Cup.

Rushesha was a part of the young Swans back line that helped keep the scores level at half time as neither side could break the deadlock in the opening 45 minutes.

The visitors stepped up a gear in the second half with defender Lynford Sackey finding the net on 72 minutes, helping the Royals to their fourth league win of the season.

The result leaves the young Swans 11th in the Premier League South Table with their next game against Southampton at Staplewood on March 16th.
