U18s sunk by Saints

2nd October

Three second half goals saw Swansea City Under-18s fall to defeat against Southampton in Premier League South.

Swansea started brightly and almost took the lead midway through the first half only for midfielder Arnor Gudjohnsen to place his diving header inches wide of goal.

Striker Michael Obafemi had the chance to give the home side the lead but fired over from outside the area.

Southampton created the better chances in the second half and took the lead in the 65th minute from the penalty spot after Obafemi was fouled in the box – the striker then converted from 12 yards.

The home side added two more before the final whistle as defender Oliver Gardner tapped in Jake Vokins corner before the full-back provided a goal of his own to make the score 3-0.
