Vitor Matos | We made another good step

Vitor Matos felt his Swansea City side had taken another step in the right direction after victory at Queens Park Rangers gave them back-to-back away wins for the first time this season.

The Swans were 2-1 winners at MATRADE Loftus Road, with Ronald setting them on their way in just the second minute, and Zan Vipotnik adding their second from the penalty spot with 10 minutes to go.

Rhys Norrington-Davies nodded in a late consolation for the hosts, but it was too late to deny the visitors all three points.

It’s now seven points from the last three away games for the Swans, and the manner in which his side controlled long periods of the game – with and without the ball – was a real positive for the head coach.

"I think that's the best way to sum it up, it was a really mature performance," he said.

"We showed a lot of tactical understanding, and an understanding of the momentum of the game. We started both halves really well and that gave us the base from which to build.

"They are a tough team to play against, they use the width really well, which means it takes a lot of effort for us to press like we want to, and maybe there were periods of the game where we could have had more control with the ball in order to find the players at the right moments in the right areas, but I think this is normal when we are in this moment of the season.

"For the future that is something we will want to improve, but we also created some good chances to score and we could have had a few more goals.

"So I am pleased, we just need to keep pushing now. We have one more away game, which we know is a very long way for us, and a home game so let's see how we can finish."
