Walsh targets more U18s goals

18th August

Marc Walsh expressed his delight at getting off the mark for Swansea City Under-18s as they kicked off their Premier League South campaign with a 2-0 win against Reading.

The 16-year-old, who joined the Swans from Republic of Ireland side Finn Harps this summer, fired the U18s into the lead at Hogwood Park before Matt Roberts added the second.

And the winger is hoping to take his form into the next game against Fulham at Landore (11am) on Saturday.

“It feels great to get off the mark,” said Walsh. “I was pleased to get my first goal this early into the season. I will be targeting more in the upcoming games.

“It was good to get the win to kick off the campaign, especially against a strong academy like Reading. We will aim to keep that momentum going this weekend against Fulham.

“I am settling in well and really enjoying my time here since the move from Ireland. I am looking forward to playing my first home game this weekend.”
