'We're in a good shape'

Leon Britton reckons Swansea City are in good shape heading into this weekend’s reunion with old club West Ham United.

Carlos Carvalhal’s men dropped back into the Premier League relegation places after losing for the first time in 11 matches at Brighton last weekend.

But the Swans returned to form by beating Sheffield Wednesday to seal a place in the FA Cup quarter-finals on Tuesday night.

Now they refocus on the Premier League as they get set to host the Hammers, who sit just three points above the Swans ahead of their trip to the Liberty.

And Britton, who played for the first time in more than four months in midweek, feels Carvalhal’s side will head into the West Ham game with belief.

“It was important that we bounced back after Brighton with a win against Sheffield Wednesday,” he said.

“The league is very important to us of course, but the cup has been good in terms of breeding confidence.

“We have bounced back in a positive way, which is good to see going into Saturday’s game.

“It is good to get that confidence back going into West Ham. It is a massive game for us and we will be looking to get another positive result.”
