Young Swans face Brighton test
14th August
Swansea City's Under-18s will make the trip to Brighton's AMEX Elite Performance Centre on Saturday (11am) targeting their first victory of the season in the U18 Premier League South Division.
The young Swans go into the game following a narrow 2-1 loss to Leicester City in their first game since being elevated to the higher division.
Meanwhile, the Seagulls will be looking to bounce back following their 5-1 opening weekend defeat at Tottenham.
Coach Gary Richards believes the Swans youngsters will take plenty of positives into their game at Brighton.
"Leicester provided us with a good test," said Richards. "Despite the loss myself and Cameron (Toshack) were pleased as we competed and were in the game right until the end.
"We have lots to learn this season and that process will be ongoing. It is an exciting time for the academy with plenty of challenges ahead.
"Leicester showed us the pace at this level is much sharper. This week we have been working on our movement to keep up with the pace against Brighton, who are a good side.
"The lads have given it their all in training this week and are looking forward to Saturday."
