Young Swans in league and cup action

30th January

Swansea City Under-18s look forward to the challenge of two games in two days this weekend as they face Colchester United and Airbus UK.
The young Swans host Colchester in the league at Fairwood on Saturday morning (11am) before a return to cup action on Sunday afternoon at Landore (2pm) when an U19s team play Airbus in the quarter-finals of the FAW Youth Cup.
The Swans are looking to defend the Welsh FA Cup after beating The New Saints 6-1 in the final last season - the side have beaten Bow Street FC and Haverfordwest so far in the competition.
Despite a heavy defeat to Chelsea in the FA Youth Cup in midweek, coach Gary Richards insists the squad are looking forward to the challenge of a busy football weekend.
"The lads are in a very positive frame of mind heading into these two games," said Richards. "With a busy weekend in front of us, we need to focus on putting in a good performance.
"The Chelsea result midweek was harsh on us considering how well we played at times during the game.
"We have spoken about it. Our aim now is to put the FA Youth Cup games against Watford, Doncaster and Chelsea down as great experiences, learn from them and apply it to games going forward."
Entry for supporters to watch both games is FREE.
