Swansea City Women head coach Yzzy Taylor praised an improved second-half display following her side's 6-0 Welsh Cup quarter-final victory over Llandudno Women.

The Swans booked their place in the last four for the first time since 2024 thanks to goals from Jessica Williams, Maisie Miller, Taite Trivett (2), Maddy Murray, and an own goal, as they saw off their Genero Adran North opponents.

Taylor’s side went into the break two goals ahead and could have extended their advantage further in the opening 45 minutes. However, a much stronger second-half display followed, with Swansea scoring four goals in a 30-minute spell to comfortably progress to the semi-finals.

The win also extended Swansea’s unbeaten run to four matches, with their last defeat coming in December, as the side continue to build momentum ahead of their final league fixture of phase one against Briton Ferry Llansawel on Wednesday night.

Taylor admitted her side were not at their best in the first half but was delighted with the response after the break.

"We’re pleased to have progressed to the last four," she said.

“I think it took us a little while to get going and really find our flow, but at half-time we spoke about how we could create more opportunities. I thought the second half was a much more well-rounded performance and closer to what we expect from ourselves as a group.

“The players felt they could have done better in the first half and we echoed that, but the ruthlessness we showed after the break was much improved. Ultimately, we achieved what we needed to do, which was reach the semi-finals.

“We’ve now scored 68 goals this season, which reflects the work we put into our in-possession play and being effective in the final third.

“I’m especially proud that we’re not relying on one individual for goals. We’re sharing them across the squad, which is really pleasing."

Taylor and the Swans now face a busy week, with that fixture against Briton Ferry immediately leading into a meeting with Wrexham on Sunday.

“It’s going to be a different kind of week for us, playing Sunday, Wednesday and Sunday, and that brings its own challenges," she added.

"Our focus was fully on Llandudno, and now it’s about recovery before we’re back in training on Tuesday.

“We travel to Briton Ferry on Wednesday and then have to recover again ahead of Wrexham next weekend. It will be a tough week, but we’ll prepare as well as we can. We’ve been in really good form recently, so we’re excited for the challenge and looking forward to the games.”
