Zan Vipotnik | We showed personality and character
Zan Vipotnik felt Swansea City showed signs that pointed to positives to come after his penalty brace helped secure a draw against high-flying Middlesbrough at the Swansea.com Stadium.
The Slovenian took his tally to 22 goals for his club this term, keeping his nerve twice from the spot as Swansea recovered from Alex Bangura's opener for Middlesbrough to lead at the break.
In the end, Tommy Conway scored a penalty of his own for Middlesbrough during a frenetic and occasionally chaotic encounter.
While disappointed not to take the three points, Vipotnik felt the manner in which the Swans responded to a difficult start to more than play their part in an absorbing contest was reason for encouragement.
"It was a good game, we were the underdogs, they are a good side and they are where they are in the table for a reason," he said.
"We showd personality and character to surive when it was tough, the boys gave everything and it was enough for a point.
"We can say it was a good point, it was not easy, but we can take a lot from it. Of course we can take a lot from it for the future."
The immediate future for the Swans is a trip to face relegation-threatened Leicester City at the King Power Stadium on Saturday.
And the striker is expecting another difficult challenge, albeit from a Foxes side at the opposite end of the table to Monday's opponents.
"They are in a difficult situation, I expect them to be at their very best because they need points and wins," he said.
"I am sure they did not expect to be where they are, so it is going to be tough.
"But if we can at our best or close to our best it will give us a good chance of getting a result."
