Swansea City travel to the north-east on Saturday to face Sunderland in one of the longest away trips of the Championship season.

Below is a hand guide for members of the the Jack Army making the 666-mile round trip.

SEAT ALLOCATION

The 49,000 all-seater Stadium of Light is the biggest stadium in the Championship by some distance.

Away fans are located in the upper tier of the north stand, which is behind one of the goals. There is room for up to 3,000 travelling fans here.

Facilities in this area are good, but the upper tier is very high and there are a lot of stairs from the ground floor to the seats.

Visiting fans generally enter the ground through turnstiles 69-72.

Please note, the Stadium of Light is a cashless venue.

 

TICKETS

Tickets will come off sale at 5pm today (Thursday, February 22). This is also the last time supporters can collect from the Swansea.com Stadium ticket office.

 

POSTAGE/ DELIVERY DETAILS

All tickets purchased before 5pm on Wednesday, February 21 have been posted out first class. Any tickets purchased after this point are available to collect during ticket office opening hours on Thursday, February 22.

If your tickets have not arrived in the post by 2pm on Friday, February 23 please let the ticket office know by emailing ticketing@swanseacity.com, including your customer number or booking reference, and the club will arrange duplicate tickets for you to collect at the host club.

 

COACH TRAVEL

Coach travel is on sale for this fixture. Coaches will depart the Swansea.com Stadium at 5.30am on Saturday and packages are available at £48 per person.

PARKING

Roads can be very busy near the Stadium of Light and supporters are advised to allow extra time to deal with the traffic build up.

Roads near the stadium are residential only and are well monitored on matchdays.

Parking is available at the Stadium of Light Metro station, while there are many car parks in Sunderland city centre, which is a 10 to 15-minute walk from the stadium.

St Mary's is a popular parking option. (SR1 3AH).

 

BY TRAIN

Sunderland train station is located less than one mile from the Stadium of Light and the walk takes between 15 and 20 minutes. The walk is straightforward with the stadium visible for most of the trip.

The Stadium of Light and St Peter’s metro stations are close to the stadium, and you can travel to these from Newcastle and Sunderland city centres.

Trains from Swansea to Sunderland take between seven and eight hours, with the most common route involving changes at Bristol and Newcastle. There are three scheduled trains from Swansea on Saturday morning which are due to get passengers to Sunderland before 2pm.

There are no return trains after the game.

Supporters are urged to plan their journey in advance and keep checking for rail and travel updates which may impact their journey.

 

BY PLANE

The nearest airport to the Stadium of Light is Newcastle. The stadium and airport are served by the metro.

NEARBY PUBS

With the city centre in walking distance of the ground, there are a number of pubs and venues nearby which are suitable for travelling fans. William Jameson (a Wetherspoons in the town centre) is popular with football fans but can become busy.

The vast majority of pubs and restaurants in the city centre accept away fans. Sunderland's supporter liaison officer has highlighted Greens, Street Bar, Victors, Fire Station & The Peacock as being the best for supporters.

For those looking for something closer to the Stadium of Light, the Colliery Tavern and the Hilton Hotel also accept away fans. The Grindon Club (SR4 9RX) is used to park supporter coaches, and fans can get food and drinks here.

Supporters are also able to enter Sunderland's fan zone the Beacon of Light Fanzone which is open to home and away fans from midday.
