Cooper gets U21 call

6th September

Swansea City youngster Brandon Cooper has been added to the Wales Under-21 squad.

Cooper, who made his senior Swans debut in the Carabao Cup tie against Crystal Palace last month, was originally called up to the under-19 squad.

But the 18-year-old defender has been promoted to the under-21s following the withdrawal of club-mate Joe Rodon, who has an ankle problem.

Cooper joins fellow Swans Daniel James, Liam Cullen, Cian Harries and Aaron Lewis in Rob Page’s under-21 squad.

They face Liechtenstein on Friday and Portugal next Tuesday, with both games taking place in Bangor.
