Steve Cooper says everyone at Swansea City has their fingers crossed for Jordan Morris, but admitted the injury the forward suffered at Huddersfield did not look good.

The United States international was introduced as a half-time substitute at the John Smith’s Stadium, but was stretchered off after landing awkwardly just before the hour mark.

The 26-year-old – who joined the Swans on loan from Seattle Sounders in January – required lengthy treatment before being taken off.

And, while it is too early to know the extent of the injury, Cooper acknowledged that the sight of a player going down with no defenders around him is not usually a good one.

“It does not look good, does it? I don’t know the extent of it but we have our fingers crossed for him,” he said.

“We will know more in the days to come, but it did not look a good one, that’s for sure.

“He will travel back with us, he is currently in a knee brace and on crutches.

“We will get the best attention to him as soon as possible.”
