Gylfi Sigurdsson completes record move to Everton

The Icelandic international links up with former Swans team-mate Ashley Williams at Goodison Park after terms were agreed with the club and player.

The transfer, which is undisclosed, ends a second successful spell at the Liberty for Sigurdsson.

Sigurdsson’s final season in SA1 saw him score nine goals and claim 13 assists – the best in the Premier League – to help steer the Swans away from the relegation zone in the top flight.

He was also named players' and supporters' player of the year for the second successive season at the club’s awards night, along with claiming the away player accolade.

Sigurdsson first joined the Swans on loan from Hoffenheim in January 2012 and scored seven goals in 18 league appearances as the club enjoyed a first season in the Premier League.

His form in South Wales led him to North London to join Tottenham Hotspur, for whom he would score 13 times in 83 appearances.

Just two years later he was back at the Liberty as he returned to the Swans on a permanent deal.

He struck 39 goals in 112 appearances in all competitions during his second spell at the club before departing for Merseyside.

Everyone at Swansea City would like to thank Gylfi for his outstanding contribution to the club.
