Borja Baston feels his hard work on the training pitch is paying off after proving the matchwinner for Swansea City against Preston.

The 26-year-old took his tally for the season to three in three games with two excellent finishes as Steve Cooper’s men came from behind once more to win 3-2 at the Liberty.

The Spaniard recently scored his first Swans goal in 1,022 days, but more have not been long in coming as he feels his confidence and sharpness growing by the game.

“Goals bring confidence and I am working hard on the training ground; that is showing on the pitch,” he said.

“I am so happy to score two goals and to help the team get the win.

“I really enjoy playing at the Liberty. When we play at home, we are attacking and that is better for me.

“We played very well in the second half and, as a result, the team were able to create more chances for me to score.”

The forward also paid thanks to the Swansea supporters for their backing, with his name ringing round the Liberty following both his goals against the Lilywhites.

“I can really feel the love of the fans when I hear them singing my name and, for me, that is very important,” he said.

“This year, I must show them what I can do.”
