James called into Wales' senior squad

12th June

Swansea City youngster Daniel James has been drafted into Wales' squad for their World Cup qualifier in Serbia on Sunday.

The 19-year-old replaces Hal Robson-Kanu, who has withdrawn due to a leg injury, in Chris Coleman's squad in what is his first call up for the senior squad.

James, who joined the club from Hull City in 2014, has been in scintillating form for Swans Under-23s this season, helping them to the Premier League 2 Division 2 title and the Premier League Cup.

Most recently, the winger was part of Wales Under-20s' squad for the Toulon tournament, with James netting the winner during his nation's sole group win over Bahrain as Wales failed to make the knockout stage.

He now links up with the senior side, who sit third in Group D - four points adrift of Serbia and the Republic of Ireland - with one victory and four draws from five games.
