Jonjo apologises for mistakes

Jonjo Shelvey apologised to Swansea City's supporters for his two errors in the 2-2 draw with former club Liverpool - but the England international earned huge praise from Michael Laudrup for showing his true character.
In an evening of mixed emotions for the 21-year-old, Shelvey scored one and set up another as the Swans shared the spoils with Brendan Rodgers' side.
But the midfielder was left disappointed after he saw two of his passes intercepted with Liverpool taking full advantage by finding the net on both occasions.
Shelvey opened the scoring after just two minutes  - his first for the club since arriving from Anfield - but then saw his attempted pass back to Michel Vorm intercepted by Daniel Sturridge, who levelled in the fourth minute.
The visitors then took the lead as Victor Moses latched onto Shelvey's pass intended for Angel Rangel, with the Liverpool debutant - on loan from Chelsea - racing on before firing into the bottom corner.
Shelvey showed great character, though, as he picked himself up to help create the equaliser for Michu in the 64th minute.
Swans boss Laudrup quickly praised the youngster in his post-match press conference for showing his strength of character in helping the Swans claim a share of the spoils.
But the midfielder was keen to hold his hand up for his mistakes in what he felt was a game the Swans could have won.



"It was a bit of a crazy night for me, but first of all I want to apologise to the Swansea fans for gifting them two easy goals," said Shelvey.
"I think we could have won the game 2-0 if I had not given the ball away.
"It was crazy how it started. I got the goal and two minutes later I gave the ball away.
"For the second one, I should have kept it simple.
"At that stage you just want the ground to swallow you up because you feel as if you've let the fans and your team-mates down.
"I expect better of myself.
"But I showed character to come back and flick on for Michu to slot away our equaliser.
"I am disappointed we haven't won. I don't think they had a shot at goal in the second half."
For Shelvey, it was the first time he has faced his former club since his switch to SA1 this summer.
He admits going up against his ex-team-mates - and former midfield partner Steven Gerrard in particular - was a strange feeling, and added that he didn't celebrate his goal out of respect for Liverpool.
"It's mad because I lived next door to him (Gerrard) and I was obviously part of the team for a few years," he added.
"I remember Joe (Allen) coming here when we were both at Liverpool and he said the same - it's a strange feeling.
"But I didn't want to celebrate out of the respect I have for the club."
