Korey Smith has urged Swansea City to keep their standards high as they face their toughest test of the season to date with a trip to leaders Bournemouth this weekend.

Russell Martin’s Swans are in a rich vein of form, having won four of their last five games and lost just one of their last six.

In fact, Swansea have lost just twice since the end of August and they have climbed into the top half of the table after ending Coventry’s unbeaten home record at the CBS Arena on Tuesday night.

But there is one final test to go before the final international break of the calendar year, and midfielder Smith knows there can be no let-up in standards at the Vitality Stadium on Saturday.

“I think the big thing is we have got some momentum now,” said Smith.

“But we know Bournemouth have got their own momentum too, they were unbeaten for the whole season until their last game so we know how tough it is going to be.

“It has the makings of a game of real quality between two sides who like to try and play football, and we have confidence after picking up six points this week.

“But this is a big test and it means our levels have to be right up there again, we can go there and look to enjoy it but we will need to be on our game.

“Our standards must not drop, we have wanted to start turning our away results around and started getting some points away from home.

“Going to Coventry, when they hadn’t lost all season, and getting a result was brilliant and we are buzzing with that result.

“We hope the fans went home happy with what they saw, we want to make sure they have more days and nights like that.”
