Leon Britton pleased to be back

Leon Britton is happy to be back as preparations for the club's fourth season in the Premier League got underway.

The Swans returned from their summer break for the first time to start pre-season, ahead of the club's tour to the USA next week.

And after being put through his paces by the club's fitness and medical staff, Britton admits he was feeling the itch to get back to work.

"It's great to be back," said Leon. "It was nice to have the break and get away in the summer, but you do get bored in the end.

"There's only so much sitting around the house and nappy changing you can do before you want to get back out there.

"It's great to see the boys and catch up on what everyone has been up to, and this is where the hard work starts now.

"Through the summer, a lot of the boys do their bits and pieces to keep on top of things, but this is the start of a long, hard season.

"There's no easy way about it. It's a lot of hard miles and hard work, but it's all worth it in the end."
