It proved a weekend of mixed fortunes for Swans players out on loan.

In La Liga, Borja was in the starting XI as Alaves drew 1-1 with his former club Eibar.

The striker made his 21st appearance of the season for Alaves, for whom he's scored four goals.

Alaves sit four points adrift four points adrift of fourth-placed Getafe with 11 games remaining.

Jefferson Montero watched from the bench as West Brom were held 1-1 by bottom club Ipwich in the Championship.

Montero was an unused sub as the Baggies lost ground on the automatic promotion spots.

West Brom parted company with manager Darren Moore hours after that result, with Montero unavailable to play against his parent club when the Swans visit the Hawthorns on Wednesday night.

In League One, Aaron Lewis started Doncaster Rovers' 2-0 defeat at AFC Wimbledon.

The full-back made his sixth appearance for Doncaster as he was replaced at half-time with the game goal-less.

Botti Biabi made his first start for Macclesfield in their League Two clash with MK Dons.

The striker featured for an hour as Maccesfield were beaten 3-1 to increase their relegation worries.

There was better news for Ryan Blair, however, as Dunfermline recorded a fifth consecutive Scottish Championship victory.

The Pars saw off bottom club Alloa 1-0 to move into the play-offs as Blair played the full 90 minutes.

Victory means Dunfermline sit six points adrift of second-placed Dundee United, who they host on Saturday.

Meanwhile, Tom Carroll (Aston Villa) and Andre Ayew (Fenerbahce) were not involved for their clubs while Wilfried Bony's Al-Arabi are not in action until Friday's clash with Al-Gharafa.
