It proved an eventful weekend for Wilfried Bony as he was on the scoresheet for both sides as Al-Arabi lost 2-1 to 10-man Al-Gharafa.

The Ivorian took just two minutes to open the scoring as he sidefooted a cross into the net for his fifth goal in just four games. That means Bony is now Al-Arabi's top scorer this season.

The visitors were back on level terms five minutes later before they were reduced to ten men early in the second half.

But Bony's day ended on a sour note as his own with 17 minutes left saw Al-Arabi fall to defeat.

Andre Ayew played the full 90 minutes as Fenerbahce eased their relegation worries in Turkey's top flight thanks to a 2-1 home win over Sivasspor.

The win moved Fenerbahce four points clear of the relegation zone.

In La Liga, Borja started as Alaves moved to within two points of fourth-placed Getafe following a 3-1 victory at Huesca.

The striker featured for 72 minutes as the visitors claimed three points thanks to two late strikes.

Meanwhile, Jordan Ayew (Crystal Palace), Jefferson Montero (West Brom), Tom Carroll (Aston Villa), Aaron Lewis (Doncaster Rovers) and Botti Biabi (Macclesfield) didn't feature for their loan clubs while Ryan Blair's Dunfermline saw their home game with Dundee United called off due to a waterlogged pitch.
