Matt Grimes continued his positive stint at Northampton Town by helping them to victory over the weekend.

Grimes scored his first goal for the Cobblers as they won at Gillingham nine days ago.

And he played 90 minutes this weekend as Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink’s team beat Blackpool 1-0 at Gigg Lane, a result which leaves them 21st in League One.

In the Championship, Connor Roberts was not involved as Garry Monk’s Middlesbrough side won 2-0 at Reading.

But the young full-back did feature for 90 minutes as Middlesbrough went down 3-1 at Bournemouth in the Carabao Cup last Tuesday.

Keston Davies was also involved in cup action for Yeovil Town last week, as he came on as a substitute in the Glovers’ Checkatrade Trophy game against Chelsea Under-21s.

He was an unused substitute in Saturday’s 3-0 win over Stevenage.

In Spain, Jordi Amat played in Real Betis’ Copa del Rey win over Cadiz last week, and will hope to be involved again tonight in the La Liga game at Espanyol.

Borja also played in the cup as Malaga went down 2-1 at Numancia, but did not make it off the bench in the weekend league victory over Celta Vigo.

Jefferson Montero was also an unused substitute for Getafe as they beat Real Sociedad.

Botti Biabi played for Hamilton as they drew 0-0 with Partick in the SPL last week, but did not make it off the bench in their weekend win at Dundee.
