Borja scored the first goal of his season-long loan spell at Malaga to secure a dramatic victory for the struggling La Liga side.

Malaga were bottom of the league before they fought back from 2-1 down to beat Deportivo La Coruna 3-2, a result which saw them climb two places in the table.

Borja, a 64th-minute substitute, scored the decisive goal six minutes from time, when he ran on to a through ball and lifted a shot over the advancing keeper and into the net.

It was the striker’s first goal in nine appearances for Malaga.

Elsewhere in Spain, on-loan Swans winger Jefferson Montero was an unused substitute for Getafe as they thumped Alaves 4-1.

Defender Jordi Amat’s Real Betis are in action at Eibar tonight.

Back on these shores, meanwhile, young Swans right-back Connor Roberts played his first Championship game for Middlesbrough.

The 22-year-old has made three Carabao Cup appearances for Boro, but was handed his first league start as they visited Leeds on Sunday.

The game ended in disappointment for Roberts and boss Garry Monk, whose side were beaten 2-1 on his return to Elland Road.

In League One, midfielder Matt Grimes played 90 minutes as Northampton Town were beaten 3-0 at home by Scunthorpe United.

In League Two, centre-back Keston Davies was an unused substitute in Yeovil’s 2-1 defeat to Swindon.

Botti Biabi was another who did not make it off the bench as Hamilton drew 2-2 with Aberdeen in the SPL.
