Borja scored a dramatic late winner for Alaves over the weekend to continue one of La Liga’s unlikely success stories.

The on-loan Swansea City striker came on as a substitute for the last few minutes of Alaves’ home clash with Villarreal.

And the move paid off as Borja volleyed the ball home from close range in the fourth minute of added time to give his team a 2-1 victory.

It was the 26-year-old’s second goal in five appearances for Alaves.

He was out of action for around six weeks with an injury, but returned as a late substitute against Celta Vigo nine days before the Villarreal game.

The win means Borja’s team are second in La Liga after 10 games of the season.

The news was not so good for Andre Ayew this weekend.

He played the full game for Fenerbahce as they went down 3-1 at home to Ankaragucu.

Ayew has played 12 times so far for Fenerbahce, scoring twice.

His brother Jordan, meantime, is yet to get off the mark for Crystal Palace after seven appearances for the London club.

He played the first 64 minutes on Sunday as the Eagles claimed a 2-2 draw against Arsenal.

Keston Davies was an unused substitute as Notts County were beaten by Swindon on Saturday.

But the young central defender did make his debut for the Magpies after coming off the bench in the second half of their defeat at MK Dons last Tuesday.

Another young Swans centre-back, Ben Cabango, played 90 minutes on Saturday as The New Saints drew 1-1 at Newtown.
