No Bony worries for Potter

Graham Potter insists there are no fresh fitness concerns over Wilfried Bony despite the striker sitting out Swansea City’s defeat at Derby.

Bony has made three substitute appearances having returned from a nine-month lay-off with a ruptured cruciate ligament.

The Ivorian played the second half against Norwich last weekend and another 13 minutes in the midweek loss to West Brom.

As a result, the Swans opted to omit him from the squad which travelled to Pride Park.

“We thought it was better to use Wilf off the bench in the two home games,” Potter said.

“It’s where we are with him at the moment – we are managing his workload.

“He can now be fresh now next week and get a good week’s training under his belt so that he is ready for Brentford next Saturday.”
