Oli out of Scotland squad

Oli McBurnie has withdrawn from the Scotland squad because of injury.

The Swans striker has been nursing a knee problem in recent weeks, while he has also been struggling with a broken toe.

He played the full game as Graham Potter’s team triumphed in dramatic fashion at Millwall on Saturday.

McBurnie scored a late winner at The Den as he tapped home from Jefferson Montero’s pass, although he was clearly struggling in the closing stages of the game.

He had been called up by Scotland boss Alex McLeish for back-to-back Hampden Park fixtures against Belgium and Albania.

The Swans will hope the chance to rest during the international break means McBurnie is fit to feature when they return to action against Nottingham Forest on September 15.
