Graham Potter revealed that Oli McBurnie has been playing with a toe injury after the striker was substituted in Swansea City’s 1-0 loss to Bristol City.

McBurnie was withdrawn after 71 minutes despite the fact that Potter’s side were chasing an equaliser.

The Scottish international frontman has netted three times for the Swans this season, but Potter felt he needed a rest after a busy start to the season.

“Oli’s given such a lot over the last few weeks – he’s been fantastic,” said the Swans boss.

“He’s had a little crack in his toe so he’s been playing with a bit of pain. I thought his energy levels were a bit low today.”

Potter stressed that McBurnie will not face any time on the sidelines despite the toe problem.
