Swansea City Ladies

Swansea City Ladies travel to face rivals Cardiff City Women in the Genero Adran Premier this afternoon (2pm).

Both sides make up the top two of the top-flight with them each boasting a perfect record in their opening three matches of the campaign so far.

Cardiff currently sit top of the pile on goal difference and have yet to concede this season.

The last time the Swans dropped any points against the Bluebirds was back in 2018 when they played out a 2-2 draw away from home.

Chris Church: “Derby games can bring the best and worst out of players and teams because of who you are playing against.

“But I’m not worried. Sunday (against Barry) was an indication of the football that we can play, and score goals the way we did.

“Regardless of who they have played, they have won and scored plenty of goals, so they are going to be a threat.

“We know their players and they know ours and both sides are going to have to deal with that.”

Remember the last time?

The two sides most recently met in the League Cup final last season with the Swans lifting the trophy with a 4-1 victory at Dragon Park.

Youngster Pheobe Poole gave Cardiff the upper hand when she was able to turn the ball home on the rebound following Claire Skinner denying Catherine Walsh.

However, the Swans equalised before the break as Tija Richardson bundled home the leveller.

Swansea then went on to take full control with a goal from Katy Hosford and a brace from Stacey John-Davis.
