Swansea City Ladies continue their pursuit of perfection this Sunday when they make the short trip down the M4 to face Port Talbot Town Ladies at Victoria Road Stadium (2pm).

Ian Owen’s side sit top of the Welsh Women’s Premier League with Cardiff City just three points behind them.

The Swans return to league action this weekend after they thumped Aberdare Town 18-0 in the FAW Women’s Cup to book their place in the quarter-final.

Top scorer Katy Hosford has made a sensational start to the season with 14 goals to her name already, and she believes that last Sunday’s massive win in the cup echoed how well the team are playing at the moment.

Hosford said: "I was really happy to score four goals last weekend. The team are playing really well at the moment and I think the score line and the number of different goal scorers reflects that.”

As well as looking to maintain their perfect record in all competitions, Swansea are looking to continue their fine record on their travels, with Owen’s side not having lost away since October 2018.

Sunday’s opponents Port Talbot have begun their season positively, picking up nine points from five with Hayley Williams’ side sitting fourth.

“Our away record is another indication of how the squad is maturing and gaining the consistency that we have asked for,” said Owen.

“Once again, though, we will have to be focused and professional in our own approach to the match because Port Talbot have assembled a strong group of players with a determined mindset.”
