Swansea City Ladies begin their FAW Women’s Cup campaign this Sunday as they welcome Welsh Women’s League side Dafen Ladies to Llandarcy (2pm).

The Swans, three-times winners of the tournament, last lifted the trophy in 2018 when they beat Cardiff City 2-1 in the final at the Cardiff City Stadium.

And midfielder Emma Beynon says that the squad is excited for this weekend’s fixture.

“We’re really looking forward to the game this weekend,” said the vice-captain.“We’ve got some good memories in the FAW Women’s Cup.

“One of my best memories playing for the Swans comes from winning it. Beating Cardiff at the Cardiff City Stadium is definitely one of my favourite moments from the cup.”

The Swans have a 100 per cent record so far this season, winning their opening three league matches.

Despite this, manager Ian Owen insists his players won't get carried away with their good start.

“We take each game as it comes, whether it’s a league match or a cup match - they are all important,” he said.

“Our players are always motivated to do well and we've made a great start to the season, but that's all it is.

"We know it will be a tough season which asks a lot of questions of us, so everyone is remaining level-headed."
