Swansea City Ladies kept their 100 per cent winning record in tact after coming from behind to beat Aberystwyth Town 5-1.

The match didn’t go according to plan to begin with after Libby Isaac put the Seasiders 1-0 up with 20 minutes on the clock but the lead was cancelled out by Stacey John-Davis.

Normal service was resumed in the second half with a much-improved performance with the goals coming courtesy of top scorer Katy Hosford, Lauren Smith, Kelly Adams and Nieve Jenkins.

Swansea found themselves in an unfamiliar scenario as they fell behind for the first time this season.

They were split apart by an accurate through ball from Tania Wylde which put Isaac in a one-on-one situation and she remained composed to pass it into the far corner.

However, the Seasiders’ lead didn’t last long as a cutback from Smith gifted John-Davis with a simple tap in to level up the scores.

The Swans came out with a fighting spirit in the second half and went close to adding their second after Kelly Adams thumped the crossbar after John-Davies laid it up for her in the middle of a busy penalty area.

Ian Owen’s side had their noses in front courtesy of Hosford, who latched onto the ball after Emma Beynon’s blocked shot fell kindly to the winger.

The lead was nearly doubled after John-Davis hit the woodwork following some neat build up play between Sarah Adams and Ellie Lake on the right wing.

Hosford was certainly on the hunt to find herself one more goal, however, her volley from point-blank range was fired straight at goalkeeper Ffion Ashman.

Minutes after nearly scoring herself, Hosford assisted Swansea’s third of the afternoon as Smith met the winger’s corner with a volley to seal the three points.

Hosford’s corner caused more trouble for Aber once again with Nieve Jenkins getting a small but vital touch on it to score her first league goal of the season.

In the last piece of action, Kelly Adams’ glancing header into the far corner put the icing on top of a much improved performance in the second half
