Swansea City Ladies continued their pre-season preparations with a comfortable victory over Exeter City on Sunday.

An early strike from Katy Hosford and a brace for Chloe Chivers were the difference between the sides at a sun-soaked Speed Meadows.

The visitors set themselves on the way to a second win ahead the new campaign as Ellie Lake whipped the ball into the box and found Hosford, calmly found the back of the net.

Hosford nearly bagged herself a brace as she stretched to meet Tija Richardson’s drilled cross, however, the winger was unable to get the crucial touch to turn the ball home.

Stacey John-Davis posed a great threat just before the break after a surging run forward allowed her the chance to shoot from the edge of the box, but she couldn’t keep her effort down.

Swansea had controlled the game from the very start and the game continued in similar fashion in the second half.

And, with 55 minutes on the clock, the visitors made the most of a stray pass at the back from Exeter; John-Davis pounced and squared the ball for Chivers, who doubled Swansea's advantage.

Chivers then fired home her second goal of the afternoon home after she was able to convert when her original effort was blocked.

Lake came close to adding to the score, but her long-range strike was denied by a fine save from the keeper as the Swans eased to victory.
