Swansea City Ladies made it seven wins from as many league matches with victory over Pontypridd Town Women at Llandarcy.

Despite the Genero Adran Premier leaders creating a handful of chances in the first half, the Swans were unable to break the deadlock.

However, the three points were secured by Chris Church’s side in the second half with Katy Hosford and Chloe Tiley both finding the back of the net.

Swansea appeared to be the most threatening out of the sides in the early exchanges and started to find plenty of joy down the left flank.

Hosford started a promising move feeding in Ria Hughes, but the full-back’s cross was gathered by Maisie Jones.

The Swans created a golden opportunity after Kelly Adams got on the end of Hosford’s drilled cross, however, she was only able to divert the header just over the bar.

Stacey John-Davis forced a great acrobatic save from Jones towards the end of the first half as the scores remained level.

Nia Rees came a matter of inches away from breaking the deadlock after she was fed in behind the Ponty defence, but  keeper Jones was able to tip the ball onto the crossbar.

At the start of the second half, Shaunna Jenkins looked to break the deadlock with an audacious attempt from distance, however, it flew just over the bar.

The threat on the Ponty goal grew as the second half progressed, and John-Davis nearly turned in Hosford’s corner, but it rolled across the face of goal.

Rees played in John-Davis with a ball over the top, but the forward was unable to keep her shot down.

The pressure eventually paid off in the 65th minute as John-Davis rolled the ball behind the Ponty defence to Hosford, who poked her shot past Jones.

Tiley doubled the lead just one minute after coming on a a substitute as she capitalised on a poor clearance from Ponty and turned the ball home from close range.
