Swansea City Ladies booked their spot in the Welsh Premier Women’s League Cup final after they overcame Port Talbot Town 3-0 at Llandarcy.

Goals from Shaunna Jenkins, Sarah Adams and Katy Hosford ensured Ian Owen’s side reached the final of the competition for the second consecutive season.

The first 45 minutes was evenly contested but Swansea had their noses in front thanks to a first-time finish from Jenkins on her farewell appearance before she joins the Royal Air Force.

The game opened up in the second half, but the Swans built a comfortable three-goal cushion after Adams and Hosford registered their names on the scoresheet.

The visitors created the first opportunity of the match from Carys Davies, whose header forced Deanna Lewis to make a great reaction save.

Stacey John-Davis had a great chance to open the scoring after Ellie Lake’s cross found the striker unmarked in the box, however, she couldn’t find the right contact to turn the ball home.

Jenkins’ goodbye gesture to the squad was provided in the form of the opener after she tucked home Hosford’s drilled cross into a busy penalty area.

Swansea began to get control of the game in the early stages of the second half and the lead was deservedly doubled.

Adams pounced on a loose backpass from Davies and then calmly took it around keeper Victoria Beddows to slot it into an empty net.

Straight after, the home side were fully in command of the tie after Hosford increased the deficit to three after she slammed home Adams’ dangerous delivery.

The final sees a repeat of last season, where the Swans take on holders Cardiff Met on March 29 at Dragon Park, Newport.
