Swansea City Ladies booked their spot in the semi-final of the FAW Women’s Cup as they overcame Bethel Ladies 4-0 at Llandarcy.

Despite the poor weather conditions, the match went ahead as planned and it was the hosts who progressed thanks to a brace from Katy Hosford and goals from Emma Beynon and sub Lani Hogben.

The game was closely-fought in the opening 20 minutes with Stacey John-Davis attempting a cheeky dink after she spotted the keeper slightly off her line but the forward’s effort dropped just wide of the post.

John-Davis had another opportunity to open the scoring but she could only fire wide with her low strike across goal.

Despite the efforts of the visitors, the Swans broke the deadlock with 20 minutes on the clock after Hosford played a short simple pass across the face of goal to Beynon, who calmly swept it home.

Deanna Lewis made a vital save and tipped Erin Maloney’s looping effort from the edge of the box over to safety in order to keep the lead in tact.

The home side were two goals up after Hosford found herself on the end of Kate Searle’s cross to nod it into the far corner.

Hosford ensured that the Swans went into the half-time break fully in command after she slammed her shot from a tight angle into the far corner deep into first-half stoppage time.

Swansea limited Bethel’s chances in the second half as the Welsh Premier Women’s League side continued to generate goal scoring situations; Beynon stung the gloves of Sioned Williams after she turned her marker to create a yard of space for herself in the penalty area.

Soon after, Chloe Chivers hit her volley over the crossbar following a dangerous corner.
