Rushesha grateful for first-team advice

24th April

Tivonge Rushesha has revealed how a number of Swansea City first-team stars have been passing on tips and advice to youngsters in the club's academy.

The 16-year-old has impressed with the under-18s this season, and was rewarded by breaking into the under-23s' line-up in February.

The Zimbabwean-born full-back also performed strongly when called upon at the higher level, and has helped the development side reach the semi-finals of the Premier League Cup.

Rushesha was also part of the Swans Under-19 squad which won the FAW Youth Cup for a 10th successive season with victory over TNS in Aberystwyth last week.

And he has spoken of how the likes of Wayne Routledge and Connor Roberts have offered him encouragement and guidance whenever he has trained at the first-team base at Fairwood with the under-23s or under-18s.

“Whenever I have been at Fairwood everyone has been so welcoming. Any number of players have always been happy to help with advice," he said.

“I am friends with Daniel James, Connor Roberts and Wayne Routledge has always been very supportive of me whenever I have been training at Fairwood.

“I am very grateful to have advice from players like that.”
