Smith hopes to make Swans impact

The American midfielder has joined Ian Owen's squad having spent four years at the University of Florida.

During that time Smith made 73 appearances for the Gators, who play in Division 1 of the National Collegiate Athletics' Association (NCAA).

She made her Swans debut in the recent goalless draw with Cardiff, and is excited about what the future will hold at her new club.

“It felt good to be out on the field,” she said. “It was something I was looking forward to and, hopefully, there are plenty more appearances to come.

“I’ve really enjoyed my time with the Swans so far.

“The sessions have been challenging, the games are of a high tempo and I’m looking forward to expanding my career.”
